Awards from the Geoffrey Nuttall Legacy
Edgworth and District Horticultural Society received a Legacy which will be used to benefit horticulture in the district defined by a map in our constitution (copied below).
Your project must add to
and encourage the
enjoyment of gardening in our community.
The Society wishes to assist financially with good proposals for such projects and may from time-to-time advertise an opportunity to apply for grants.
Applications, when invited, must comply with the following criteria:
- A fully detailed description of the proposed project
- Explain the benefits it will provide
- The location (address / postcode) of the project site. If the project is in a small part of the site, identify its position
- Identify the funding being applied for and a breakdown of the associated costs,
- The grant will not be available for commercial activities or to cover maintenance.
- Applications must be received by the advertised closing date
Duration of the work

All
works must be
completed and invoices /receipts
covering the costs
of their project presented for payment by the end
of April in
the year following
the grant offer.
- Failure to do this may result in the grant offer being withdrawn.
Frequency of received applications
- Applications can be made in two consecutive years by the same people/group/organisation.
- Subsequently, priority will be given to requests from those who have not applied previously.
The grant offer and its payment
- Successful applicants will be notified within one month of the closing date
- The Committee’s decision will be final.
- On completion, receipts for all expenses will be required together with bank account details
- The Grant will normally be paid to the applicant on completion of the work though phased payments may be arranged.
